The Apple's Best Ballaz
Sebastian Telfair 5'11 PG
Lincoln
Although Sebastian was
already considered the best player in his class I guess you could say ABCD
was a coming out party for him. Everyone knew he was good but nobody knew
he was that good. He never looked like he was outclassed by any player he
went up against and that includes, Anthony Roberson, Elijah Ingram,
Raymond Felton and Sean Dockery. He showed that his jumpshot is deadly
when he is on, and he doesn't need a clean look he can just shake his man
and rise over him for the 3. In the Spring he was looking to score a
lot more then pass but ever since the Rumble in the Bronx he has looked
like one of the best passers in the nation. His sick handle and great
speed make him impossible to guard one on one, which allows him to get to
the basket and either score on his own or find the open teammate. His
weakness is his defense, which I think if he put his mind to it he could
be a great defender. Since he is so quick he should have no trouble
keeping defenders in front of him. 2001-02 Season Outlook He will be the man of the team this year, so he will post big numbers but he won't have John Quintana to fall back on if he doesn't have for a particular game. But if everyone on his team can be eligible Lincoln will have a shot at the PSAL title. Right now Sebastian is my early pick for PSAL player of the year and should make the Daily News 1st team. |
